Assessment Preparations

For the final week before assessment, I've spent the majority of my time making sure that all my work is up to date and completed to a high standard.

After my tutorial with Kate last week, I took on her advice and tried to incorporate some of the lines found in my drawings, into my embroidery samples as well. Looking back through my work, we noticed that even from the beginning, a lot of my sketches have a constant flow and movement of shapes running through them, which before now I hadn't realised. Although I have tried to relate my samples to my sketchbook work throughout this unit, I wanted to emphasise it even more.

What I love most about the sample shown above is how simple it looks from far away, but when studied closer you discover the intricate detailing and layering of fabric.

I've also continued with this style of drawing, keeping within the circular shape. I altered between both positive and negative to see which I preferred - the outcome of this is yet to be decided!
